Terms of Service

Last updated: May 5, 2026

1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Regris compliance documentation platform and related websites, software, and services (collectively, the "Services"), made available at getregris.com by Regris ("Regris," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, accessing the Services, or paying for a subscription, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

If you are using the Services on behalf of a water utility, public agency, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and references to "you" include that organization.

2. Description of the Services

Regris provides a self-service software platform that helps community water systems prepare compliance documentation, including Risk and Resilience Assessments (RRAs) and Emergency Response Plans (ERPs) responsive to America's Water Infrastructure Act (AWIA) Section 1433. The Services guide you through a structured self-assessment based on the statutory framework and produce a formatted report, gap analysis, and remediation roadmap based on the information you provide.

3. No Professional Advice; Not EPA-Certified

Important. Regris is a documentation tool. It is not a substitute for professional engineering, environmental, cybersecurity, legal, or regulatory advice, and it does not establish a consultant-client, attorney-client, or other professional relationship between you and Regris.

Regris is not certified, accredited, endorsed, approved, or otherwise affiliated with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), any state environmental or public-health agency, or any other regulatory body. Neither Regris nor its personnel hold AWIA Section 1433(b) certifications, professional engineering licenses, environmental science licenses, or equivalent regulatory credentials in connection with the Services.

The Services do not render professional judgments, certifications, or attestations on your behalf. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you enter, for reviewing the documentation the platform produces, and for any certification, submission, or filing you make to EPA or any other authority. Any AWIA §1433 certification submitted to EPA is your certification, made by you, on your authority and under your responsibility.

4. Eligibility and Accounts

The Services are intended for commercial use by water utility professionals and authorized representatives of public water systems. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and authorized to act on behalf of the water system whose information you submit. Regris does not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If you are under 18, please discontinue use of the Services immediately. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at customerservice@getregris.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

5. Subscriptions, Fees, and Refunds

Access to the Services is offered on a one-time or annual subscription basis at the prices posted on getregris.com. Fees are charged in U.S. dollars and processed by Stripe, Inc. You authorize Regris (through Stripe) to charge the payment method you provide for all applicable fees.

30-day satisfaction guarantee. You may request a full refund of your initial purchase by emailing customerservice@getregris.com within thirty (30) days after your purchase date if Regris does not help your utility complete its RRA or ERP work. After the 30-day period, all fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

Annual subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current rate unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel a renewal at any time through your account or by contacting customer service.

6. User Content and License to Regris

You retain ownership of all information, data, descriptions, and other content you submit through the Services ("User Content"), including the operational information used to generate your RRA, ERP, and related documentation. You grant Regris a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing, maintaining, supporting, and improving the Services for you. Regris will not share your AWIA §1433(a)(5) sensitive operational data with any unauthorized party and will not make such data available to other users or the general public.

You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to submit the User Content, that submitting it does not violate any law or third-party right, and that you have authority to share any sensitive operational information you submit (including information that may be governed by AWIA §1433(a)(5)).

7. Intellectual Property

The Services, including the platform software, assessment methodology, question sets, report templates, statutory mappings, user interface, and the Regris name and logo, are owned by Regris and protected by U.S. and international intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services during your active subscription term, solely for your internal compliance purposes.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, resell, sublicense, or create derivative works from the Services or use the Services to build a competing product. Compliance documents generated for you using your User Content are yours to use, retain, and submit to regulators.

8. Acceptable Use

  • Use the Services only for lawful purposes and only for the water system(s) you are authorized to represent;
  • Do not submit information you are not authorized to share, including third-party confidential or classified information;
  • Do not interfere with, disrupt, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, other accounts, or related systems;
  • Do not use the Services to violate any law or regulation, including export controls and laws governing critical infrastructure information.

9. Third-Party Services

The Services rely on third-party providers, including Stripe (payments), Supabase (database), Amazon Web Services (hosting), Vercel (hosting and analytics), and Anthropic (AI-powered report generation). By using the Services, you affirmatively agree to be bound by Stripe's Connect Platform Agreement (available at https://stripe.com/legal/ssa and https://stripe.com/legal/connect) and Stripe's Services Agreement (available at https://stripe.com/ssa) (collectively, the "Stripe Terms"). As a condition of payment processing, you authorize Regris to share with Stripe, and authorize Stripe to collect, use, retain, and disclose, your transaction and payment processing activity information and related customer data reasonably necessary to enable payment processing. Stripe's handling of personal data is subject to Stripe's privacy policy at https://stripe.com/privacy. Regris does not collect, store, or have access to your payment card information. We are not responsible for third-party services or for content on websites linked from the Services, including EPA and other government resources.

10. AI-Powered Processing

The Regris platform uses the Anthropic Claude API to assist in generating compliance documentation, including RRAs, ERPs, gap analyses, and remediation roadmaps. Information you submit during an assessment may be processed by Anthropic's API in order to produce your report. Regris does not use your compliance data to train AI models. Anthropic's data handling practices are governed by Anthropic's usage policies available at anthropic.com. By using the Services, you consent to the processing of your User Content by Anthropic's API as described in this Section and in our Privacy Policy.

11. Your Rights and Choices

You may contact us at customerservice@getregris.com to: (a) access the personal information we hold about you; (b) correct inaccurate or incomplete information; (c) request deletion of your account data; or (d) opt out of non-transactional communications. Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws. Regris operates in multiple states and will honor applicable rights requests in accordance with governing law.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services and any output generated through them are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Regris disclaims all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or trade usage.

Regris does not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure; that any output will satisfy EPA, state, or other regulatory requirements applicable to your system; or that use of the Services will result in a successful certification or compliance determination. You are solely responsible for verifying the output, retaining qualified professionals where appropriate, and complying with all applicable laws. Regris currently implements reasonable technical safeguards, including row-level access controls and TLS encryption for data in transit, but has not yet obtained formal NIST, SOC 2, or equivalent third-party security certification. Users are encouraged to evaluate the platform's current security posture against their own organizational requirements and any applicable cybersecurity obligations, including those arising under AWIA §1433(b).

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will Regris or its owners, members, officers, employees, or contractors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, regulatory fines or penalties, costs of substitute services, or reputational harm, arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services, even if Regris has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Aggregate cap.Regris's total cumulative liability for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will not exceed the greater of (a) the fees you paid to Regris in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one thousand U.S. dollars ($1,000). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, the foregoing limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Regris and its owners, members, officers, employees, and contractors from and against any third-party claims, demands, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to (a) your User Content, (b) your use of the Services, (c) your submission of any compliance certification or report to EPA or other authority, (d) your violation of these Terms, or (e) your violation of any law or third-party right. Regris may, at its option, assume the defense of any matter subject to indemnification, in which case you will reasonably cooperate.

15. Term and Termination

These Terms apply for as long as you use the Services. You may stop using the Services and close your account at any time. Regris may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, if continued provision of the Services creates legal or security risk, or if Regris discontinues the Services. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 3, 6–7, 10–15, 17, and 19) will survive.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Regris operates in multiple states; users located outside Alabama may have additional rights under applicable state or federal law, which Regris will honor to the extent required by law. The parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Jefferson County, Alabama, for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services, except that Regris may seek injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property or confidential information.

You and Regris agree that any dispute will be resolved on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in a class, collective, or representative action.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice by email to registered users or by posting notice on getregris.com. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of the changes.

18. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any order or subscription confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between you and Regris regarding the Services and supersede prior agreements on the subject. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, agency, or employment relationship between you and Regris.

19. Customer Reference and Logo Use

With your prior written consent, Regris may identify you as a customer and display your organization's name and logo in its website, marketing materials, and investor or partner communications solely to indicate that you use the Services. Consent is strictly opt-in and may be withdrawn at any time by written notice to customerservice@getregris.com, after which Regris will promptly remove your name and logo from new and existing materials. Government-entity customers may be subject to restrictions that prohibit commercial endorsements; no such customer is required to consent, and declining will not affect your access to or pricing for the Services.
